If you are editing a product, and if you allow the site to time-out, when you update, it kicks you out to the admin login, when you come back in, all of the data is gone, except for the pictures...

I would understand it if it was a new product, but not one that has been on the site for some time.

It would be nice to have either A) to go back to the way it was prior to the edit/timeout, or B) To have the updated info ready to go, and upload from there.

The session.gc_maxlifetime (which you can check through Admin >> Tools >. Server Info) shows how long you get before the admin session times out and you lose the session. Changing this via Admin >> Configuration >> Sessions (admin session lifetime) may help (shared hosting server will probably impose a default 24 minutes / 1440 seconds anyway so may not work.)

Also, probably better uploading new products via spreadsheet (EPA Import) - once you have the template setup, manually adding products isn't really an option.
