Hi,

I've still been having some major speed issues with the site and was wondering if there were ways to speed up the database. I'm currently running 6.2PRO [5]. The site is also heavily modified, so I can't really upgrade to another contribution at this point.

The site offers about 15,000 items all which have about 4 different sizes listed through the database, so all and all there's about 60,000 usable entires, with another 5,000 that have no use, but still sit in the database... The site doesn't list any manufacturers, and since i sell relatively high ticket items there aren't a ton of orders that go through to be stored...

My questions are:
1. Are there any ways to speed up or optimize the database?
2. If deleting those 5,000 entries or so, would have a large effect on speed, and if so, how would I do so?
3. Is there anything else I can do to speed up my site?

What I've Done:

1. Optimized for both Google Accellerator and YSlow
2. Optimized all images to take up less space
3. Installed MagneticOne's Performance Tool
4. Installed ePHPAcellerator on the server....

What are page parse times? Tells you how fast the page is drawn.

What host are you using? Sites that size don't do well on cheap shared hosts.

I am currently on a VPS right now, and because of all the changes all my other smaller sites are flying.

Admin >> Configuration >> Logging you'll find parse times. If you enable it and show it then you'll see it at the bottom of your pages.

I'm out of time for evals but your reverse DNS is incorrect. You need to fix that or you'll have serious email delivery problems. Most big ISPs block all emails from sites without rDNS.
