I am currently running CRE Loaded with a custom template and am utilizing the EPA Import feature to upload almost 18,000 products. The problem I keep running into is that whenever I complete my import, I notice that the import process has duplicated mulitple categories. The only constant I see with each duplicated category is that each one is over 32 characters.

Has anyone ran into this issue before and is there a fix other than manually editing the categories down to below 32 characters?

Yes, I have come across this before. The limit for categories_name is 32 characters. If you need more characters, go directly your database using phpmyadmin, select categories_description, select categories_name and edit length to a value of your choice. Alternatively run the script below, change ?? to a value of your choice.

ALTER TABLE `categories_description` CHANGE `categories_name` `categories_name` VARCHAR( ?? ) ;

Thanks for the info. I had also created a trouble ticket on this and they finally got back to me. I went ahead and changed the setting and then attempted to create a category with 50 characters. Everything worked ok.
