One of the reasons I am leaving osCommerce is due to the fact of its ridged ascetics among other things. The rich design qualities of CRE Loaded-- we all now can walk away from those shackles. Not saying your website is bad; in my eyes it has that old osCommerce look. Not functionality… looks. Very cool stuff you have there. It looks like you have been working real hard on product stocking, allot of product.

I would loose the scroll bar on the bottom of the page for 17” monitors or less with a higher resolution. I am using a 24” wide screen on a Vista machine so I do not see it unless I am looking for it. Also I would take a real hard look at the cantankerous “Search Engine Optimization” there.

One thing super nice regarding CRE templates is how easy it is to change it out. Maybe after the data entry for products slow and sales pick up you can take a hard look at that.

All comments are ONLY to be taken as constructive.

Everything is working and that is what really counts doesn’t it?

Take care
ric

"One of the reasons I am leaving osCommerce is due to the fact of its ridged ascetics among other things."

What you gain in ease of template installation you lose in ease of adding new features. I run all the major derivatives of OSC; each has their good and bad points. OSC sites only look rigid because the owners don't purchase a template or change the design themselves. Any OSC site can be made to look like any CRE site; it just takes longer to do. Of course when you're done you have a nice site with streamlined code running fast parse times (few queries) and a wide open back door for new features down the road. The further you venture from the OSC platform the more freedom to new features you lose. Every new CRE feature is now at a price because the code is so convoluted that adding a new feature from an osc contrib is likely to break something. I just ported SEO-G into CRE SP1 and what took me 10 minutes to add to an OSC site took hours to make it work correctly in SP1. I'm not knocking CRE because I think they're great for getting started quickly but the more they deviate from the core the more problems I see posted. Reminds me of the cars with all the bells and whistles; something is aways broken. Purchase a car without many features and it rarely breaks.

Back to the OT, site looks great and one suggestion is to fix the left corner gif (maybe the right one too). I know they're pulling from the blue folder like the other images but they're grey and not blue. Here is the image I'm talking about. Great work though and good luck.

Ditto with the scrolling. I have what I assume to be a standard size monitor and I had to scroll horizontally, which I don't like to do.

I don't want to diss your site because I know how much work it takes to get one going. But this looks like every other shopping cart site out there. I don't see a positive distinguishing factor. You have to know what your competitors are doing, then find a niche they are not serving if you want to win the game.

- Why would the "Quick Find" box be buried on the lower right instead of being listed prominently at the top left? Remember English speaking people read top to bottom, left to right. Put your most important info at the top left. Like a "quick search" link ...

On the plus side, you put some very important info right on top, and that's good for your user. Free shipping and secure SSL in the banner - good move.

Best of luck to you. Once you have the store running smoothly, I suggest you begin working on the looks so it becomes more than just another shopping cart site.

Best of luck to you.

I think I have fixed some of the issues you all have mentioned. Still trying to get the search box at the top though. Thanks to all my best friends (even the one that said my site sucks) :P

Well, it doesn't actually SUCK! It just could be improved. There's no point being one in a herd - you want to be the best!

Is there still a scroll left/right issue? I narrowed the page settings.

Yes, it still requires scrolling on a 1024 screen.

There is way too much space between the product photos, perhaps you want to reduce that?

Hello Jody,

I tried several times to install Chemos' Ultimate SEO Url 2.0b for my CRE 6.2 Pro B2B, but all failed with some problems.

I searched the forum and noticed that you have made the SEO-G work for your CRE site, I am just wondering if it is possible to study your ported SEO-G and install it for my site? ;-) Appreciate much for your kind help!

Best regards,
allright
