Hello there,

I am trying to simplify the management of the pricing structure when most items in the catalog have a similar price. Let's say you have 3 main categories and all items in each category have the same price. I would like to store the price at the category level so it can quickly be changed without going at the product level. The only time the product price should be assigned is when it differs from the parent category it belongs to.

In particular, I am trying to customize CRE Loaded to enforce the following business logic related to pricing:
- If a product has its price left blank (or has an arbitraty special value), the price should be retrieved from the category this item belongs to.
- If the category has no price either (blank or special value), look up for the parent category (grand-father) and grab the price from it, etc.

In other words, if the price of an item is blank, retrieve the first parent category which has an associated price.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I think you would be better suited using quick price updates.. as pricing is per product with multiple checks (specials/coupons/groups)
