I have a csv file with about 9000 rows that I need imported into CRE for a shopping cart. That would take a month to put this all in by hand and I was hoping for a easy way to do this. I am new to cre and need some help. Even if there is a shopping cart that can do this and CRE can not that would be helpfull as well...

Thank you.

set 1 product up normally on your admin side then export this with EPA export. Then open file in spreadsheet and just copy the info with all other products.

when inporting I find it better to import just 1000 rows at a time. the images need uploading via FTP seperatley.

In that case Store Manager is a cheaper solution.

I recommend Magnetic Ones Store Manager to everyone and anyone.

Compare:

CRE Loaded XML/CSV Feeds Management System for $299.95

to the Magnetic Ones Store Manager only: $149.00

I think it would be a no brainer.

I do not work for them but do believe in their products and service and support behind their products

Yes, guys, you are right. This is actual for one time import, but if you need to get products feeds from few suppliers automatically on the daily/weekly/hourly basic... Doe's Store Manager allow to do that?

Uhhhhhhhhhh Looks like it to me and I know their support is top of the line or at least has been for me! A product that works is important but support for when it does not is as important!

Though I do not use it nor know anyone that does.

I do like being able to work with real time products without having to do so in the CRE Backend.

and editing a product or products does not have to be done offline then hope it is uploaded correctly. Importing and exporting information and not just products is a breeze I think.

Would be great if something like this could actually be incorporated into CRE Backend!

Code:
Automated Product Import addon allows you to automate product import from external sources into your store. So you can automatically synchronize your products with your wholesale partner.

Automated product import should be registered in the same way as main application - using license key, first and last name. See Store Manager Support regarding registration issues. You can reset addon's license (due to hardware change etc) in the same way as main software license.

If plugin is not registered, it works in DEMO mode - you can do everything with it, but you will not be able to post actual changes to your database. In order to unlock its functionality you have to purchase appropriate license and register extension.

In order to create scheduled product import, follow few steps:

1. Specify Import settings - select file from your local drive, specify HTTP URL or FTP and select configuration name if you have one. You can create new configuration, specifying import parameters using 'Configure Import' button. For more Import configuration parameters see our troubleshooter or Store Manager documentation.

2. Click on 'Add this Task to Scheduler >>' button to specify task name, time and frequency of updates.

Specify your time frame - you can make import Daily, Weekly, Monthly or once. If daily, specify start time and frequency. If Weekly, specify the time, the day of a week and frequency. If Monthly, check/uncheck month (s) when you wish to import products, day and start time.

Preview import option - when enabled allows you to see import snapshots and changes, but actual changes will not be applied to your store database. When disabled, all products will be updated in your store while import.

I personally use Magnetic Ones Store Manager and Do VOUCH for it 100% and like I said before!
You do not have to be in the store backend to use it.

You do not even need a browser open to use it! but do need internet connection to import and export

For me the support and service from the team at Magnetic One sets the bar and standard of service I would expect from any product!

I would have to see the product you talk about in operation before I would believe it would be even close to Magnetic Ones Store Manager!

Is there a demo website set up to review it? or maybe even a demo download like Magnetic One team offers for some of their products?

The program looks great and all but I am doing this for a client and they are on a tight buget. I am hosting the site for them and I have direct access to the the tables of the database. I just can't get the csv into the cre becasue it spans a few different tables and I am not sure how cre links them together. Any other suggestions?

Well now if your doing the hosting I am sure you know about mysql and how to do imports and exports of the databases!

Just build up a couple of categories and products into each as well as any attributes if you wish and export those with phpmyadmin or which ever database back end you are using.

Then build the feeds inside excel following the format of the newly exported templates.

When you are confident you have it the way it should look, just import it back into the database!!

I am sure you can Google the info you need on importing and exporting with which ever database back end you are using.
