All,
Working every angle for getting higher in SEO (I'm at page 6 on average now) I have read that having <h1> is good but also having <h2> <h3> and <h4> heading tags are much better then <h1> alone.
Currently I am using fwr media's header tags contrib and it has moved me up to page 6 (where it was non-existent before) but I would like to add more in the product listing page "product_info.tpl.php".

I have done a search but can't find it so I thought I would ask here. Is there a simple snippet of code that would put the top level product heading and the lower level heading in variables so I could then put them in the h1, h2, h3 etc.?
As an example:
If I sell bowling balls it could have: Bowling balls > brunswick > kids sizes

So in product_info.tpl.php I would like to be able to have:
<h1>Bowling Balls</h1>
<h2>brunswick</h2>
<h3>kid sizes</h3>

Thanks!

Mike

Hi Mike

Not worth the effort - better concentrating on content, link building and h1 keywords repeated in the content.
Beyond h2 - doubt it'd make any difference. Page 6 is nowhere mate - 10% might make it to page 3, beyond that, very unlikely anyone would.

Taking 'bowling ball, brunswick' a search terms in google the #1 listing on page 1 (www.bowlingball.com) has h1 and h2 tags on it's homepage. How many h4 - h6 etc ? None, although I found 1 h3 on a product page.

More importantly, that site has a crazy amount of multimedia information plus customer reviews, social media and google +1 tags ...

IMO better building content (multimedia) and communicating with the audience now that google will show reviews, ratings from +1 clicks through social media.

My 5c (but not as an SEO marketing company)

Simon

That site is interesting for how poor I would think it rates by using sites like:
http://website-seo-tools.com/website-seo-analyzer.html
http://www.seoworkers.com/tools/analyzer.html

My home page rates higher then his. The main difference I see is the large number of H2 tags which are on their homepage.

I find it interesting that by using every seo evaluation site I have tried today http://www.bowlingball.com/ ranks lower then mine....

I'll read more on the customer reviews, social media and google +1 tags as you indicate.

I'm gonna keep plugging away and if I find a magical formula I'll let you know.

P.S. I wrapped the bread crumb in <h2> to see what effect that has over the next two weeks.

Mike

Lol -because the companies that sell seo services and create the 'analysers' will mention everything but content, media ... as they can't measure that (or offer to create it themselves) ... so they yak on about everything else, meta tags being an example. Whereas google will be looking at what the content is and who's saying its worthwhile.
