Hi All,

I would like you to take the time to give a little feedback concerning pagination.

Currently Creloaded uses php to split the page results, loading each page as you click on it.

Do you see any benefit to using Javascript to display your page results when viewing the products within a category or when using the advanced search?
Your thoughts, ideas would be most appreciated.

Demo of cre using pagination :http://mdjl-demo.co.uk/estore1/index.php?cPath=8

Thanks..

ask the search engines if they like the javascript results.. ie turn off javascript and see if it still functions

yours at least listed all the products when javascript was not available

I have never been a fan of pagination.. unless the first page results is what i was looking for ;)

Thanks Jason,

I appreciate the problem with some(and this is a very small some) browsers having Java turned off, and will put in a noscript that will then use the original Cre sort page results.

Not a fan, when you design a template for someone, do you remove the original split_page_results?
From what I see online, the majority (especially UK) sites, us pagination on there category/subcategory pages, what would you suggest, showing all products on one page?

Paul

well ideally the page I land on has exactly what I am looking for.. although this isn't typically found in the real-world.. unless a site uses very specific categorizing and/or limited products

if you have to split results.. try to present the first page either by most popular/closest match

you should still give them the ability to sort by at least price low to high/high to low.. that is probably the one feature I use most (low to high).. then name..

I do like how newegg and walmart use the left side to narrow down my listings by multiple criteria.. brand/price range/etc etc

Sure looks pruddy. Who really wants to click away with a pages of results interface though?

I think 'refined search' is a better way to go. This is one of the few worthwhile features I've found in algozone templates - a refined search infobox. This helps the punter who is actually looking for a $2 replacement washer for a 20 year old ceramic duo tap set to start searching from the 'plumbing supplies' category and finish up in record time.
