Hi,
Now I know right off some people will look at this and say eh... But I am hoping that I can get a bit of help.

I have a new data feed from one of my wholesalers.
It breaks the feed into many different sections that if I uploaded directly looks like it would cause many issues. As you can see below the full Sku is the Parent Sku with a Child Sku. The Child Sku is normally an identifier.... Like:
1403 SLIM
1403 STANDARD

1403 is the model and the Slim or Standard is the sub model....

I am guessing in CRE PRO that would make 1403 Slim and 1403 Standard as subproducts but with CRE CE this would give me two different products where what I was looking for is 1403 with the attribute of SLIM and Standard selectable.




So I am looking for ideas. Not necessarily a made solution but ideas. Anyone have an idea how I can get this data feed to be imported without have lots of duplicate products or a lot of work?

If no... that is ok. I understand.

Coding this as is would be a right royal pain.

Provided you don't need to reverse the process, I'd consider concatenating those two fields prior to import to create unique product model numbers that match the existing store database.

Failing that, extending EPA / EPB with an extra field after each occurrence of v_products_model or p.products_model would be a good start.

Follow up by doing the same thing to categories.php and the product related functions in general.php (may be in another function file by now, who knows??)

Then do the same thing to catalog products_info*.php , the various product modules and print_order*.php / invoice.php to approach making a clean sweep of it...
