I am running an online store which as been working fine the past few weeks. Up until a few days ago very often i am faced with: Unable to connect to database server when i try and go to my site. I am also faced with mysql too many connections. I have contacted my host and they have told me there must be a script running etc but i can't see what this may be.

Yes, the script running is your site loading

It is a webhosting problem, and most likely you need to upgrade hosts, get more RAM, move to a VPS or Dedicated server etc.

Surely they could tell you more than that, like 'which script?' or answers to questions about why the server is overloaded or maxing out RAM ... if not, name the hosting company, so readers can avoid them. Are you running a live chat facility by any chance?

Usually if it's a capacity thing hosting companies fall over themselves to get you to upgrade, cos it's $$.
