Hello everyone,

I have almost no experience in the e-commerce, however I would like to change that.

For about a year now I have been selling used and refurbished electronics on Ebay which I have purchased from Liquidation.com and alike website. I generate about $2000 a month in sale, however I want to create an e-commerce site with hopes that it will increase my sales.

Here is what I would like to ask.

1) How to search for steady suppliers? Because I do not want to sell second tier products on my site.
2) About building a website? Should I try to build it on my own with tools provided by them or should I hire one of the professionals they have available?

If you could tell me how you started and what steps you have taken in E-business, and possibly advise me of the pitfalls, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you all.

Alex.

I guess that wasn't really what you were after!

Nice work making money on ebay - believe it or not you're half way there. You understand how the transactions work with payment providers etc and keeping customers happy!

Learning the technical stuff will be useful and well worth it. However, the in's and outs of E-Commerce isn't for everyone so if by posting here admiting your not really that way inclined thats a start. That you can source some goods over a long period of time may be your best bet and increasing that network and talking to a local e-Commerce company to sell your goods cheaper than what you can do on Ebay.

Building a site however doesn't guarantee instant millions - make sure whoever you speak to knows about Analytics, SEO, PPC etc as your with the rest of the dot com failures without it!!

Good Luck!

I also agree that either the shop owner or the developer handling the stoer should know seo issues.

A good site with no traffice is of no worth.
