 Post subject: cURL Settings and Authorize.net

Hi everyone,

I've come here for support because CRE isn't answering their phone, live chat isn't working and I know I can find the answer here.

I'm getting the dreaded "The server cannot connect to Authorize.net. Please check your cURL and server settings." error message when my customers try to check out. I don't know why this is happening, as I have made no changes to the site or the server. I've Googled the problem and it keeps bringing me back to a link in this forum, but that hasn't helped either.

I am running on an Apache server. cURL is compiled, and Path is set to NONE. A quick php info page gives me this detail:

cURL support enabled
cURL Information libcurl/7.15.5 OpenSSL/0.9.8c zlib/1.2.3 libidn/0.6.5

I'm getting the following warning in my admin panel:
Warning: curl_setopt() [function.curl-setopt]: CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION cannot be activated when in safe_mode or an open_basedir is set in /var/www/vhosts/brooklyngigcenter.com/httpdocs/store/includes/modules/payment/paypal_wpp/curl_link.php on line 37

I don't know how this is applicable, as I don't accept PayPal on the site.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm losing money while this continues, and I'd be willing to pay someone to resolve the issue for me.

Thanks, but a reboot of the server seems to have miraculously resolved the problem.
