i am trying to change the starting number for my affiliates, to something like 999 (instead of 1). i did a search on the forums, and saw a post from a number of years ago ... someone suggested to make changes to "the table". can someone please point me to the correct file and let me know what i am looking for as far as code to change?

It's not a file, it's a database table

Using phpmyadmin, you will need to goto the "affiliate_affiliate" database table, then goto the "affiliate_id" and change the record
