I've upgrade from 6.2 to 6.4 and found a strange problem with attributes....

I'm marking attributes to products via the "Edit Products" and after updating - some attributes do not show.
It's always the same attributes.
However - adding the attribute via "Product Attributes" is working fine, but whenever an edit is made on that product those attributes will disappears again.

Hi Amugin,

This forum mentions "CRE Loaded PCI 6.4 Support" - surley this means this area is for CRE staff and other members to help with this issue. This is also a public support area where other customers whom have purchased this product can see the various issues and the resulting fixes.

I don't mean to sound harsh, please do not take offence to my above comment as I know you always help others on this forum more than others. In fact you helped me with one of my issues which was very helpful.

Med

Hello Med,

This forum is a "community" like most of the other forums. For help by Cre Staff you have to contact them directly. See the Terms of Use in the 6.2 part. In this case you contact them through a bugreport.

Hi Amugin,

Please accept my apologies, I did not read these terms. Thanks for clearing this up.

i have the same issue .. so many hours in adding attributes and only one dropdown appears on each product page regardless of how many should be there.

ie: if you add sizes and colors .. only the first one will appear unless you add them manually via the attribute manager not the product edit page

the bug report page does not have an update as of yet ..
if there is a fix for this, please post a cross link as I have been unable to find it.

6.4 CE version ... fresh install downloaded October 2009
any assistance greatly appreciated

additional information ..
the manual entry doesn't actually work properly either..
i have color and size ..
in the product edit page, i have selected all of the colors i want .. they show up in the dropdown in the storefront page.
i then went to the attribute manager and manually added 3 sizes ... the dropdown appears, but only one size option is available.

I don't know if this is related or not, as I don't use product attributes. However, I do use sub-products and what I found upgrading from 6.2 Pro to 6.4.1aB2B, is that what was fine in 6.2 is different in 6.4. I had a problem with characters disappearing from the sub-product "name" field everytime I did an "update." This only happened with certain sub-products in two specific categories. It turns out that if I had a "&" or "'" anywhere in the MAIN name field, which gets prepended to the name field in the Inventory Control Options (Sub Products) field (i.e., MIAN name field TP-'59, sub-product name field 3063-TP-59ANG = TP-'59-3063-TP-59ANG in MySql database table), every time I would do an update, first the "3063" part would disappear. If I didn't add it back and did another update, the "TP" part would disappear, until, after enough updates, the entire field would be blank. As soon as I changed the MAIN name field from "TP-'59" to "TP-59," without the apostrophe, PROBLEM SOLVED. I had another with an ampersand giving me the same trouble. Removed the ampersand from the name, and PROBLEM SOLVED. Perhaps this is similar to what you are experiencing with product attributes?
As I said, 6.2 doesn't care about ampersands or apostrophies, for some reason. My 6.2 site is still running with &'s and 's without any problems. I would imagine 6.4 would have problems with certain other characters as well. If you have anything other than letters, numbers, dashes or commas, those characters could be suspect as well.
