1. When someone pays using a credit card through their system do they at any point have to leave the website or do they see anything that tells them that it's a paypal credit card system?
2. Would I be able to get rid of Authorize.net?
3. For anyone who has used them or heard about then, are they a good system to work with? Are they reliable for example?
4. How about disputes? We have few chargebacks and I assume if there is one it is like a standard chargeback or maybe even a paypal dispute. Is there a charge for chargebacks like with a regular merchant bank and how well do chargebacks go when you have one?
5. Would we still be able to accept all 4 major cards-Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express?
6. If we can take American Express is that handled separately such as how we have to do it now with a regular merchant bank? Will we have to pay the $7.50 monthly fee, etc?
7. Also, I'm using CRE Loaded 6.4. Does CRE Loaded 6.4 support Paypal? It seems I came across something that there are two paypal gateways, Website Standard Pro and Website Payments Pro. It seems the standard version may leave the website for Paypal and then back to CRE and the Pro doesn't. I take Paypal payments but am not sure if this is the same so would like to make sure the CRE Loaded 6.4 supports it and hopefully if so the Pro version.
1. Bit more complicated than that, now that cresecure is around (see below.) Using the regular Paypal Payment Std module you usually leave the website for theirs and see PP flags, logos etc everywhere.
2. Up to you.
3. They're Ebays payment gateway. I think their system is ok and as bth merchant and customer I've never experienced reliability issues. They seem to have ongoing changes to it, for better or worse.
4. Dispute procedure is pretty clearly documented. How well do they go? For the customer? Usually well.
5. Paypal accepts all those. And of course if the customer has a PP account, they can use this instead.
6. Don't think Amex is separated out - fees are flat rated, and I think reasonably high (esp for a small business with low volume.) But that situation applies everywhere.
7. Website Payments Pro is via Cresecure ... so cresecure is the gateway there. Using cresecure they look as though they remain on your site (it uses a template system to replicate your page) more info:
http://www.cresecure.com/pages.php?pID=7&CDpath=0So you could just offer cresecure (Sal would be happy), which would allow PP to be used as an option.
Website Payments Standard is the older huckery module that is also included in 6.4.x. that takes customers directly to PP and their standard portal where they choose either their account or pay by credit card.
Most of those other questions would be best answered by reading up on the docs at the respective payment gateway sites or giving the rep a call.
